This year we developed a new saddle for urban cyclists. One of our goals was to design a saddle that didn’t require any measuring devices or systems, but would fit 95% of cyclists properly straight from the box. A movement scientist was invited into the design process by our product designers. Together they have come up with a tapered design that puts the riders with wider pelvic bones further on the back of the saddle. In their upright riding position, cyclists are supported on their pelvic bones by the flat rear area not requiring a lifted nose. The lack of a raised nose area and channel prevents pressure on softer tissues. Make no mistake, this saddle is specifically designed for cylists that have an upright riding position. This makes the ComfortPlus unsuitable for road, mountain bike or trekking applications. Since lots of urban bikes spend most of their time outside, we looked at some smaller details to make the saddle more suitable. We use vacuum sealing to keep the PU foam sealed so no moisture can reach it, making the saddle water and weather resistant. And we added compatibility with our BSB-23 quick-release Saddle bag, so you can remove the bag in a wink when you need to leave your bike on the street.
